My Career as a Lure Courser
Part 12 - Eleventh Race

Previous chapter

On June 9, 2001, at 60 Acres, Redmond, Washington, I entered my eleventh official ASFA Lure Coursing event, sponsored by WRAG.  I had a great time, but didn't win anything.

Daddy went to a motorcycle club meeting that morning, so he didn't get there until just after my first race.  Mommy released me and did a fine job.  A friend stopped by to watch and ran the video camera, so we still got some shots!

My preliminary race was with Cayman and Fila, the three girls of the six Field Champions.  (The guys were Reebock, Polo and Poncho.)

That's me and mom on the right.  Fila, in the middle, is raring to go.

Happy doggies!

Here comes daddy!

All together again!
(Thanks to Mike Ferguson for taping the first race for me!)

My final race was with Cayman and Reebock.

Daddy at the helm.

Cayman got first place again, of course.  Go, Cayman!

Chickie, one of my littermates, helped the puppy, Tenor, get certified.  Chickie is the one on the right with the bunny. Tenor did a nice job, but now just wants to play with Chickie.

The judges were Lee Opresko West Richland, WA, and Donna Richards, Denver, NC.

This was a fun course. It always went in one direction.  Some dogs would guess that the bunny would finally go the other direction and get off course.  It was also the longest course I've ever run.
